Today has been a busy day for everyone! We were spoilt for choice at breakfast this morning – getting a smorgasbord of bacon, eggs, spinach, mushrooms and baked beans on top of our usual continental breakfast! Happy faces all round!
The coaches and drivers set off early to pick up the buses, with the younger coaches tutoring the older coaches on how to use google maps-quite amusing at times!
Training kicked off at 1pm with all teams having a scratch match with another Rossy team. Coaches are very happy with how their teams played this afternoon, especially after a big day of traveling yesterday! The gym was a hot and steamy with little ventilation but that didn’t dampen the atmosphere! The intensity was awesome and everyone is now looking forward to their skill sessions tomorrow.
Having the morning off allowed everyone to go out and experience a bit of Melbourne shopping and sight seeing. Most teams visited the Victoria Street markets or the DFOs, although some teams found more excitement in the slushies from the local 7/11!!
We finished the day with a lovely BBQ out in the garden in some surprisingly warm weather. Tomorrow we all head to Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Center to register our teams and watch the Australian Volleyball League Finals. We are also lucky enough to have one of our teams (U/15 Girls Honours) help out with ball keeping for some of the finals!!
Good luck to U/17 Girls Honours (Morgane’s team), U/15 Boys Honours (Craig’s Team) and U/16 Girls Honours (Dixie’s Team) who all play their first games tomorrow night!!
